Update: Komende maandag mag i Afgelopen maandag (7 juli 2008) mocht ik 41 minuten Radio1-tijd vullen tijdens de Nacht van het Goede Leven. Dat doe ik met vooral veel nieuwe muziek, die barst van de genre-overschrijdende samenwerkingen en remixes. Wie er voorbij komen? O.a. Benga & Coki, Lupe Fiasco, David Byrne, Last Shadow Puppets, Hot Chip, Wiley, Micachu en Flying Lotus. Veel Engels georiënteerd, en dan ook nog eens vooral werk van Londoners, maar goed, daar komt al heel de geschiedenis interessante muziek vandaan, ja toch?!

Een columnist op Pitchfork (Amerikaans onafhankelijk muziekwebzine) heeft het voor 2008 over een stroming of thema zelfs, die je ‘wonky’ zou kunnen noemen, maar hij wil geen nieuwe etiket of hokje creëren:

hip hop, hyphy, grime, chip tunes, dubstep, crunk and electro, one flavour unites a network of exciting sounds. Wot do u call it? Wonky.

Bijna al deze stijlen komen ook langs in mijn keuze. Geïnteresseerd, luisteren dan: maandagochtend 7 juli in alle vroegte (rond 5.20u) naar Radio1, of live online.
